#AreYouHereYet? How to STFU and Show Up For Yourself
#AreYouHereYet: How To STFU and Show Up For Yourself is the sequel to Dr Ortega’s debut self-help book, #IsHeHereYet: Being the Person You Want to Be With.
It follows Dr Ortega’s signature raw, humorous, and compelling style as he continues examining the perceived epidemic of being single in our universal quest for love. When a person is committed to doing all the work to improve themselves by being “The One” (and thereby improve their love life), what happens when nothing seems to happen afterwards?
Through witty, thought-provoking writing, sassy #OMG Moments, case studies, and “Tea Time with Tony” (end-of-chapter exercises for the reader), Dr Ortega helps readers explore the personal blocks and self-limiting beliefs that keep them stuck. It’s a second chance at not only improving but falling in love with, themselves. It provides essential “what next?” support in a sea of self-help books focused on the start of the journey.
Duffy’s Thoughts On #AreYouHereYet?
My first thoughts when I received a review copy of #AreYouHereYet? was “WOW, there is A LOT going on here!” Even the cover shouted at me and was unsure if I was going to like what was inside. The good news is, I did.
Disclaimer: #AreYouHereYet? is not for anyone with a fragile ego or delicate, conservative tendencies. If this sounds like you, then I suggest you stop reading right here and head off to find a more subtle and cuddly self-care read.
However, if you are in a rut, very aware of your own self-sabotage tendencies and need a good old fashioned kick up the butt to get you on the path to where you know you deserve to be, then this is the perfect read for you.
I particularly liked Dr Ortega’s cheeky, irreverent style of writing and the fact he is open with his own failings and let downs as he explored the cult of self-help. The expensive seminars, forceful sign-ups and disingenuous speakers with money, not motivation on their minds. All leaving him empty, disillusioned and looking for a likeminded tribe.
Be prepared to be fierce, show up or ship out. #AreYouHereYet? How To STFU and Show Up For Yourself is the book you need when you know what’s wrong, but need genuine help, tools and motivation to find out “what’s next?” in your life.
