Want to scare yourself silly this Halloween?
If you’re looking for a little terror in your life this Halloween then you really don’t need to look any further than the grand master of complete terror Stephen King.
Personally I find that reading one of Stephens Books is far more disturbing and scary than watching one of his movies. Being in bed, with Stephens characters in my head completely absorbed in the story then being sharply jolted back into reality by the cat jumping on my bed scaring me silly, or the phone ringing (why does the volume always seem to be twice as loud in these situations!) makes for far more sleepless nights than curling up on the couch and watching a good horror movie.
Either way, this Halloween go old school and rent out some real Stephen King classics from the local library or DVD store. Below are some of my favourite Stephen King books turned into movies. Enjoy and try not to have nightmares!
I saw this movie at a sleepover with friends when I was far too young to have done so. It still terrifies me.
I don’t think I need to say too much here. Probably one of THE darkest and most terrifying characters every created. I could barely look at the image while I was uploading it.
The twins in the hallway still stalk my nightmares.
Cracking Book, great film that doesn’t date and creeps up on you slowly.
Any scary books or movies to recommend this Halloween?
I have yet to finish The Shining… I always forget how scary it is and then try to read it again, and then abandon it at the same spot. Seriously haunting!
