A perk of being a blogger is that I get to try out some new experiences in Sydney and last week I got to head out on a Sydney Pearl dinner cruise!

Hopping aboard the Sydney Pearl cruise boat, we were welcomed by a friendly chap who showed us to our table and gave each of us a voucher for a free welcome cocktail as the boat set off. Dinner was served soon after and what I liked was that the cruise staff called people up table by table so there wasn’t a queue or mad rush to the buffet table. The food was fresh, hot and replaced frequently; a choice of hearty mild beef curry, chicken drummers, along with with veggies, rice and a range of salads to fill up on.

Most people, including myself, headed up to the rooftop to see the sights of the city and what I particularly enjoyed was that the boat went around to areas of the harbour that I hadn’t been to before on other cruises. We got up close to the Naval ships and cruised alongside the botanical gardens. The cash only bar was well stocked and service was pretty quick. We had to wait a few minutes for a cocktail to be made though, so grab one early before you head up to the rooftop and take in city views.

Then, at about 8pm ‘Elvis’ cracked out a few of his best and then the DJ played a solid mix of dance tunes and pop classics. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun and it seemed all sorts of groups were having a good time. After three hours, we gently sailed back to the harbour and hopped off to enjoy a few late drinks around Darling Harbour. The cruise was billed as an Elvis themed one, but to be honest, you don’t need to be an Elvis fan to get a lot out of the night. You can head up to rooftop and have a drink with your friends, sit on the upper deck at your table and enjoy some banter, or even head down the dance floor after the Elvis show and bounce out to a few tunes!

A great value, relaxed and fun night out.

Book your cruise here and tell them Duffy sent you!
