I get lots of book review offers from all sorts of independent and mainstream authors and publishers. I usually politely decline and wish writers well on their journey as I need to choose the books I read carefully because so many approach me. Tal wrote to me in a way that pleased me.  He had taken time to look at my blog, understand my genre and read my posts. He also had such an energetic, without being over the top writing style that I was intrigued to read his book, even though it had a very long title!

The Art of Fully Living: 1 Man, 10 Years, 100 Life Goals Around the World charts the life of Tal Gur from when he first left Israel and set foot in Melbourne, starting out in adult life and finding his way in a new country. Tal started to become ‘present’ and look for signs which would lead him to his next step. You may think at this point, that there are many books out there of a similar ilk, and there are, but Tal tells his story slightly differently. There is no amazing secret to becoming a multi-millionaire with a model wife to be found here; for example, Tal’s first goal was to just get out there and party! It became a way to network, fully immerse in Australian culture and pick up the language far quicker than sitting in a weekly language class.

It’s a quick, energetic, positive, pick me up read if you are sliding into a funk or sitting at a crossroads.  Download it today for an inspirational commuter read, or one to get you inspired whilst relaxing on your next holiday.

I managed to ask a busy Tal Gur some questions and delve more into a world of living fully!

Q&A with Author Tal Gur about The Art Of Fully Living

With so many people online purporting to be wanderers, lifestyle gurus and soul-searching coaches, how do you market yourself to differentiate from the not so ‘real world’ of Instagram and other social media platforms?

You are right. The online world is getting crowded, which makes differentiation one of the most important elements in building an online presence. The way I see it, standing out and differentiation are all about being unique. As we are all unique individuals with unique gifts, I just make sure I am myself at all times. There is really no better differentiation than sharing your own unique experiences and stories.

What would be your top three tips to tune in and start reading the signs before you miss them?

I have one main tip. Start noticing patterns, or in other words, Synchronicity moments. At first glance, a series of occurrences in your life may seem unrelated yet, more often than not, a deeper look can reveal a common theme and a message.

You seem so incredibly energetic and positive, are you really like that every day? Are there times where you don’t know where to go next? How do you cope with those moments in life?

Not at all… I have my moments of course. In regards to how I cope with these moments, I actually wrote quite a lengthy blog post on the topic:  https://fullylived.com/unstoppable-motivation/

Do you think the word ‘authentic’ has been hijacked by advertisers and marketers? What is your understanding of authenticity and what does it mean to you?

To me, being authentic means being 100% yourself. It’s who you are behind all the labels and superficial majesty. So it’s really a question of uncovering and removing layers of personality to a point where all you get is your essence. I wrote another lengthy post about it here: https://fullylived.com/who-are-you/

Now the Art of Fully Living: 1 Man, 10 Years, 100 Life Goals Around the World is getting out there, gaining traction and making positive change, what’s next for you? Where will the next sign come from?

As you can imagine, since the completion of my 100 life goals list, I had been getting the “What’s Next?” question a lot. During my last year’s introspection, I’d come into the realization that rather than setting another big list and pouring myself into a variety of different pursuits, I’d “buckle down” and centre my focus. I decided that if the primary theme of my last decade was an achievement, then the theme of this decade is going to be served through empowerment – of self, of others, and of the world at large. Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds 🙂
