It’s Christmas Eve and time to wish you all a very merry Christmas and post a festive blog.

I thought about my best Christmases and of course, with any happy childhood you think back to that time when Christmas was truly magical.  I then thought about the books I loved most and tying the memories of important books in my life and a ‘Duff’ Family Christmas there is only one story book I could share.  One of the most beautiful books and film adaptations ever, and neither have any words.

The Snowman by Raymond Briggs was released when I was just 6 but since then (and still today in the Duff household) The Snowman is watched on Christmas day.  I wanted to share with you a great little clip from Youtube.

When I watched it, I was right back at home in my PJ’s tucking into a cold turkey sandwich lined with so much butter it felt cold on my teeth while my freshly shampooed hair (Vosene – for those who were brought up in the UK in the eighties you will recall the coal tar soap smell and hair so clean it squeaked when you combed it.) Dried as I sat on the rug in front of a roaring log fire.

Happy safe times.  My Christmas wish is that every kid could feel that warm, full, happy and safe every night.

Enjoy your Chrissy, whatever creed, colour or creation you may be!
