Harbourside Boogie Night Cruise

I’ve been on lots of Sydney Harbour Cruises and with so many out there, it can be hard to decide which one to choose. Luckily, Harbourside Cruises found me (love the perks of the job sometimes)!

First up, the Catamaran

We boarded The Harbour Spirit Dinner Cruise from King Street Wharf,  Sydney Harbour at 6.45pm and were welcomed aboard by a smiling crew. We were then shown to our seats in the newly fitted out dining saloon. The corner seating was cushioned, the ceiling and surrounds were decorated in a contemporary nautical theme, and the tea lights on the tables  and spot lighting gave a warm, dinner party like feel. A few of the guests had dressed up in disco outfits too which added to the fun of the evening!

Then the night begins

The Harbour Spirit filled quickly and soon enough we were heading out into the harbour where our friendly MC explained the safety instructions and where the amenities were. Drinks started to flow and the chatter began. We were then called up table by table to a sumptuous dinner buffet. Prawn spaghetti, whole grilled trout, potatoes, scotch fillet slices and a range of salads. Everything was prepared onboard and topped up regularly, so it was always fresh wherever you were in the buffet queue. Once everyone got towards the end of the meal, the disco tunes ramped up and we got to enjoy two sets from a great retro cover band who played all the hits, along with some forgotten classics. The dance floor was at capacity as everyone let their hair down and really got into the swing of things.

Once guests had burned off dinner calories (and then some!) on the dance floor, a selection of freshly made desserts were laid out. The cheesecake in particular was delicious, you could tell it was made from scratch. A few more wines and good times took us back to the harbour where we disembarked after 3 hours of fun and a happy atmosphere.  There was even an amazing full moon to see from the vessel on the night, along with all the major Sydney Harbour landmarks.

How did it rate?

Of the many cruises to choose on the harbour, it’s worth picking one that has a well fitted out vessel, quality wines to see you through the cruise, a superior buffet and first class entertainment, a Harbourside Cruise is where you should book. Perfect for groups, work outings, date night, or a hens!
