top 3 thrillers

Duffy’s top 3 Thrillers. Get ready to have the pants scared off you!

I love a good thriller and I have read plenty in my time! Here are 3 of my favourites which kept me up at night with the light on, and yet they still slink creepily back into my head from time to time.

Slade House by David Mitchell

This book was so pretty, it sat on my to be read pile for a long while, I would glance at it’s hardback cover and run my fingers over the minimalistic book jacket having no idea what was inside. This book slowly creeps into your head and hangs around long after the lights go out. Don’t ever go inside Slade House, however tempting it may be.

The Last Days Of Jack Sparks

The Last Days Of Jack Sparks by Jason Arnopp

If you like your thrillers smart, scary and with a protagonist who isn’t a sweet victim running from the bogeyman, then this is for you. Jack Sparks was researching the occult and publicly mocked an exorcism he witnessed. There was then a strange 40 second video posted to Jacks You Tube account, that Jack claims he didn’t post. Then Jack goes missing…..

This book is a really clever twist on the genre and one I would recommend to any thriller lover.

YOU Caroline Kepnes

YOU by Caroline Kepnes

You is still my favourite thriller of all time. Manipulative, murderous, charming, handsome Joe will mess with your head. How can you be drawn to a serial killing stalker? If you have been brave enough to spend time in the past with Patrick Bateman and Hannibal Lecter, you may just survive a night with Joe.
